Human Effect on Wildlife
Human Affect on Wildlife How would you feel if someone came into your home and completely destroyed it? We, humans, are becoming increasingly more dangerous to our own environment, and with that comes negative effects on out wild life. Animals are getting fatal diseases, losing their habitat, and ultimately, losing their lives. We are not only endangering the animals, but ourselves as well. We cannot survive without the animals on earth. “They do two times more for us than all of the industries and the economy does” according to the documentary The 11th Hour, that explains how destructive we are to our planet and how crucial it is that we change our ways. Once our wild life is gone, it will be close to impossible to grow it back. We need to change what we are doing, for the sake of the animals on Earth. We have been killing them for too long, and need to start help grow our planet back to save them. Our animals are suffering from things we are doing. From deforestation to build houses and make paper, to new fatal diseases from the chemical waste we create, they are suffering. We bulldoze down trees for roads and homes, while they are forced to move away and attempt to survive and adapt to their new surroundings. Pollution in the water and soil from fertalizers and other chemicals create dead wastelands where nothing can grow or survive. The dams we build to re direct water where it is convenient for us, but stop water from flowing to rivers that were homes to animals that now will die from dehydration. And because of the increase in temperature, the ice glaciers, home to many animals, are slowly disappearing. “Everyday there are fewer places left that wild life can call a home” (Boyle) And although that may seem like a small price to pay, imagine what the horror and fear the animals are going through. For example, the ringed seal. They rely on the ice to live, and give birth. The pups live in snow dens to protect them from predators and from freezing to
