Q1. What overall HR strategy do you think MITRE is pursuing? Is its recruiting focus broad or targeted? Does it primarily use internal or external sources? The MITRE is an American not-for-profit organization based in Bedford. MITRE manages Federally Funded Research and Development Center’s (FFRDCs) for the government. The organization is using a different recruiting method. In the previous times they spent a lot of money for advertising and job agencies. Now, there is a different method to hire people. The organization try to include their workers by searching or include them by choosing new employees. By doing so, it motivate the workers and it provide you to hire qualified people in a cheapest and easiest way.
Consequently we can say that this kind of recruiting based on more targeted scope. The organization seeks to more qualified people, people, who have a special skills and they also looking for expertise therefore the organization is also welcome for older people, because of their past experience. I think this method of recruiting is an external sourcing. The current employees propose people, who are in their environment, but not working for the organization. Therefore we can say that this method is more an external sourcing.
Q2. What characteristics of MITRE make it particularly attractive to older workers?
MITRE is searching for qualified employees, therefore it also strive for older people, because most of the older people have some in their previous time work experience and knowledge that can be useful for the organization, especially technical knowledge is more used.
