Brianna is a waitress in a small town in Washington state. As she takes orders and serves food, repeats, “Hello, my name is Brianna and I will be your waitress today. Can I start you off with a drink?” over and over, she thinks of many things. Perhaps she thinks about cheering at the next football game or the fact that she’ll have to clean her room when she gets home. Maybe she wonders if the steak is really as good as everyone says or how she’ll celebrate her birthday in a few weeks. She doesn’t worry about the middle aged man staring her down from across the floor, she doesn’t worry about the way he and his “wife” seem a little too interested in the life of a 17 year old girl. She gets a little suspicious when the man, Richard was his name, comes back a few weeks later declaring that he divorced his wife and he wanted to party with Brianna. Like an intelligent girl she turns him down.
Soon after her 18th birthday, she meets a man named Nick. He’s rich and Brianna falls prey to him instantaneously. He lures her away from her parents and talks her into moving in with him. Before long he has her dancing in strip clubs in Arizona, Nevada, all over the country. Dirty, dingy places, she even sees Richard while performing a few times. With the help of her parents and her friend Evan she’s able to escape from Nick before she’s in too deep. Not every victim is as lucky as Brianna.
