Deloitte assists an insurance leader with Workday-enabled Global HR Transformation
Abstract
A leader in insurance has operations in 90 countries and tens of thousands of employees. In the past, the company had more than a dozen business units that operated with significant autonomy, with little standardization and consistency from region to region. Today, a streamlined company is looking to change that, working with Deloitte on an HR transformation initiative to provide a higher level of service to employees and managers while at the same time capturing the efficiency and cost benefits that come from uniform technology and processes.
The Challenge
Work on this global HR Transformation began in the summer of 2010, as the team analyzed the client’s current structure, made recommendations for the new environment and created a business case and road map for implementation. During this process, the client selected Workday over its incumbent ERP system. Global design sessions followed in the summer of 2011, involving 250 client HR and Payroll practitioners in design and planning activities over 9 weeks. In addition to implementing Workday, the client’s solution includes payroll aggregation, new HR shared services centers, applications for recruiting, learning and performance management and a new employee portal. Throughout the transformation, maintaining consistency is a high
