Good Morning...

It is with great sadness that I share the recent loss that our valued co-worker and friend, Cristina, and her family have recently suffered. Our hearts go out to Cristina who has recently lost her Grandfather, Uncle, and beloved pet.

On behalf of our staff, we have sent an edible arrangement and card to Cristina and her family. Please continue to keep Cristina and her family in your thoughts and/or prayers during this difficult time.

On a positive note - Cristina left an exciting message on her father's Go-Fund-Me Page on 8/7! (Delphon Davidson, her father, was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis in 2007 and received a double lung transplant on Christmas Day 2010. After feeling shortness of breath, diagnosed with an infection

He said, “It’s quite remarkable that she’s making such a quick recovery. She can almost walk on her own now and that’s a huge step this soon.” Always staying positive was something that I learned from Zach, even though his mother had been diagnosed with the most severe cancer he constantly was bring up all of the good from this situation and never dwelling on the negative side. My grandma's condition wasn't anything but hard for me and my family to deal with. Everyday with her was a roller coaster that held many twists and turns and couldn't stay on the track. If you didn't hold on tight, you’d thrown off. You never knew what she would remember each morning that she woke. Some days she would know the date and she was aware of her surroundings, while other days (which weren’t so great), she'd be back in time when her husband was alive and she’d call for him. Then she’d be puzzled as to why he wouldn't call her name back. When my mom would bear her the bad news he has been gone for years, my great grandma turned as silent as a mouse for the remainder of the day, wallowing in her sorrow. Yet, as her memory faded, mine…

It was sad to know that a lot of people with this diagnosis had decided to end their lives, but I am glad to see that Taylor is living the best she can. I was happy she came in to talk to us because it really put things in perspective for me since she reinforced the fact that anyone can suddenly get a disability at any time. I used to think that people are either born with a disability or become disabled with old age, and that because I am young and healthy I won’t have to worry about living with a disability just yet. Which is why I was shocked to see someone around my age talking about how she lived a pretty normal life as a student, but suddenly got diagnosed with a disorder that made her…

The sun had just begun to set through the outstretched arms of the elm trees, when Danny Valentine reached his apartment on fifth. He sighed and reached under the matt for his key. He fumbled the copper colored key in the lock and stepped inside. He was greeted by the tantalizing aroma of fresh parmesan and freshly cut tomatoes. Danny threw his stuff on the floor, and collapsed on the well worn vomit green sofa. Morrie Schwartz was a great man. He was a man who searched for and found contentment in life by enjoying each moment to its fullest. He was my beloved husband and father of my two sons Rob and Jon. We will never forget his kindness, his compassion, and his love towards others. Through his guidance and wisdom; he has helped others figure out the meaning of life for themselves. Morrie has impacted me in a great way, and probably has to the rest of you. He has taught me peace, forgiveness, love, and compassion. I couldn’t have done it without him. He helped me build a strong family foundation filled with giving, receiving, love and affections. Most kids these days are shy of their parents, but not our family. Our family is quite the opposite because of Morrie. I have learnt a great many lessons from Morrie, and I’m sure a lot of these lessons you have learned as well. There are some important lessons I would like to share with all of you today, that Morrie would have liked me to say. First is his family. Morrie once said “If I was divorced, or living alone and had no children. This disease would be so much harder to get through. Sure people would come and visit, like friends and associates but it’s not the same as having someone who will not leave. Someone you know who is watching you, someone you know who truly loves you”. If I never had been taught that lesson, I wouldn’t be cherishing my family as much as I do today. One last great lesson Morrie has probably taught us all is “love goes on”. Morrie always said that when you die, your relationships you had on earth never dies. Your body leaves but people will always still have you in their hearts. Morrie will live on through all of us. I don’t,…
