Around 100,000 children around or under the age of 5 do not get the proper daily nutrients (Farrell). Haiti is getting to an unsafe level where less than 50% of homes have no access to clean drinkable water (Farrell).
There are as many people that are starving as the total population of the rest of the rich world (Coates).
It is just totally wrong that a large group of people are unhealthy due to eating too much, when there are those without any food (Coates). We do not have too little food to feed everyone , we have a seriously messed up and unfair food system(Coates). Food prices are slowly rising which does not quite impact us, but when you are living off of $2.00 a day it is a catastrophe(Coates). Going to bed hungry could be a very avoidable thing if we could just make our food system fair (Coates).
There is definitely enough food in our world to stop world hunger, not just in Haiti , but all over the world. The only problem is if we are willing to actually address the issue and change our food system (Coates). Decreasing food prices and import taxes would have a massive change on the poverty level for Haiti (Coates). We as a country can all end world hunger, we just need to fully address the issue and get motivated to help those who need it most. There are millions of people dying due to the fact that we will not share the food that we have more than enough of. If you were starving and had to go to bed every night knowing you probably would not have food the next day,
