I was quite disappointed and angry that the health care worker did not present a clean technique to the clients, I was going to censure the fault that I made but my mother stops me. After a time, I spoke to the nurse of the ward about the incident, and she asked the health care worker whether this incident happened. The health care worker did not deny. She said that she had been very busy, and she just work for the hospital for few days, she could not cope with the workload, she just wants to finish her work as soon as possible, therefore, she had not thought about it. The nurse also discussed the importance of hand hygiene with her, and the health care worker promised that she would perform hand hygiene while she serves every patient. It is because performs hand hygiene is an essential part of maintaining clean which is learned from my nursing lesson. And also, the staff should perform clean technique while she was changing napkin for every client. According to World Health Organization [WHO] (2009), after finishing every procedure for the client, the caregiver should discard gloves to maintain hand hygiene as the gloves may carry germs that transmit to another client if the caregiver does not change their gloves. WHO (2009) mentioned that the health care provider should perform hand hygiene at the right time, including before touching a patient, before the clean or aseptic procedure, after body fluid exposure risk, after touching a patient and after touching patient surroundings.
