Hysteroscopy Analysis
Hysteroscopy is a method for the evaluation of lining and structure of uterus. The evaluation of cervix, endocervical canal, uterine cavity and other structures plays a significant role in the management of infertility. A thin view tool, telescope like instrument, called Hysteroscope is used for the procedure. The Hysteroscope has a light camera attached with it, which is used to see and analyse the structure and lining, endometrium clinically, on the screen. This analysis is essential to know the problem in uterus which may prevent the woman from being pregnant. In addition to this, Hysteroscopy also serves following purposes-

• To find the possible cause of repeated miscarriage.
• To check for endometrial cancer.

It is better to have Hysteroscopy done when you are not having your menstrual period. Hysteroscopy is not a whole day or more like procedure, the actual process( diagnosis) just takes 2 5o 5 minutes. You don’t even require an anaesthesia for the general process of Hysteroscopy. However, you may require anaesthesia for the operative procedure, but there is no need at all for the diagnosis process. Usually, the woman is discharged within 15 to 20 minutes after the procedure and, thereafter, they may join their work next morning. Because approximately more than 10% of uterus structure is a contributing factor in the fertility of woman, so diagnostic and operative procedure of Hysteroscopy is very effective when analysing and treating the imperfections in uterus and help infertile women.
PCOS
PCOS is an acronym for Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. PCOS is a hormonal disorder in a women body which may cause infertility. It affects the basic functioning of ovaries. PCOS leads to collection of cysts (small masses) in the ovaries which consequently, affects the fertility of women. Symptoms of PCOS involves-
• Irregular or infrequent menstrual cycles.
• Excess hair growth
• Acne and depression (So, PCOS affects appearance too)
• Weight gain
Etc.
The proper reason behind the PCOS is still not known. Most of the doctors believe that the cause behind PCOS is genetics and hormonal imbalances. Androgen, a male hormone, is also produced by females in a very insignificant amount. If they starts to produce Androgen in a more than normal manner, then it may cause PCOS and therefore, affects the development and release process of eggs during ovulation which consequently leads towards infertility. This more than normal amount of androgen may be a result of high insulin. Therefore, we can consider high insulin as a contributing factor in infertility. Early diagnosis and treatment may prevent from the complications which are the results of PCOS. The PCOS diagnosis is performed by checking various hormone levels.
