I Am David

I am David is a story about a boy who was placed in a Soviet prison and was separated from his mother. David only had one friend that was able to save him. He was brainwashed and had no idea who his mother was. He took an adventure through many countries to find his mother. David only had one friend that was able to save him. David had many challenges and was one of the few escapers of the prison. At the beginning of I Am David. David had been separated from his mother and father. His father was shot in the head, while his mother was never seen again. The camp only consisted of men because of the power they possessed compared to women. David had no mother to take care of him but he only had one friend who had helped him named Johannes. His mother was soon after found in Denmark. David’s friend, Johannes was David’s only friend. David at night one day had snuck up to the Commissar’s office and took a soap to clean himself. The next day the Commissar had made every person in the camp come to the center. David was hiding the soap in his hand and Johannes looked at him and nodded at him.
Even though he was brainwashed he was still able to remember his mom and remembered his friend Johannes. He gets flashbacks during his escape to freedom. He decides to escape and makes a run for it. He nearly gets shot in the back. His only source of food is only one bread. Three nights after his escape, He had eaten all of his bread gets to the country of Romania. He finds a small town and looks around for food. He finds a bakery where food is. He asks the baker for food and the baker asks for money and he says he doesn't have any money. He then keeps begging and the baker tells him to wait at the bakery. While David sits there, the baker gets some of the town’s police officers to ask him some questions. David then runs away from the town ignoring the police officers while getting a flashback to never trust
