The fact that women are less valued than men is, to be blunt, sexist. Men are supposedly shown dominance while women are shown to be less powerful or powerless. Men also have the power to choose whomever they marry and however many times they would like to marry. In Saudi Arabia, women have to wear attire called abaya in order to follow the Islamic law. They are long black dress that covers expose skin including face, hands, and feet. One incident, I went to a mall without a hijab on, soon I was halted by the religion police and told me to cover up my hair. What confused me was that an American woman passed by without a hijab, yet the religious police didn’t stop her. I understood that they saw, for the lack of better term, white people, as a non-Islamic people. However, I believed that white-colored people have a greater power or aura that surrounds them than Asians in Saudi Arabia. Not only do they look down upon Asians, especially Southeast Asia, they think us as maids (nannies, houseboys, etc.) because almost all Arab families has at least one maid and one
