Afterwards, I watched the "I Have a Dream" speech by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. I asked myself a few questions about why this speech is famous, and whether the people here in America still believe in it? What made it a most effective speech at that time? Was it the way he read the speech or was it that people wanted to change their behavior at that time, which made it the most memorable speech ever given?

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was confident, and one could tell from his body language that it was strong. Martin Luther King also used some powerful language to make a connection with his audience, for example: “Now is the time to rise from
the dark and desolate valley of segregation to the sunlit path of racial justice,” and “Let freedom ring." These two examples had a strong and powerful effect on Americans at that time.
