The setting of the short story, Thank You, M’am by Langston Hughes, takes places during the early 1900s. There is a large woman named Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones and a young boy named Roger. Both characters are the protagonists. The one main character, Roger, can be viewed as both a dynamic character and a stereotype. The story starts off with Roger trying to steal Mrs. Jones’ pocketbook, but he is caught and then gets threatened by her. She decides to take him back to her apartment instead of calling the police. Roger explains that he is in need of money to buy a pair of shoes. Mrs. Jones understands where he is coming from and she relates to him by saying, “I were young once and I wanted things I could not get.” At the end of the discussion, she gives Roger the money to buy a pair of shoes, and never sees him again.…

Anton chevok states how important the secondary character and without them the there is no foundation of the story because the secondary character is the one who supporting the main character. For example he quotes “when you fashion a story you necessarily concern yourself with limit :out of main and secondary character’s you choose only one –the wife or the husband, place him against the background and describe him alone and therefore also emphases him while you ,while you scatter he others in the background like small change “ and in comparison in the Balto story angelle is main character for she is being pressured to lie about what had happened that night her father made her drive the car because he was drunk , for example in this quote states “ The second charge is child endangerment , not for the boy on the bike ,who barely even scraped a knee ,but for you allowing you to do what you did and do you know what will happened if the jury finds out” ( Balto page369-370) Because angelle is in the middle of a chaotic life between keeping her family together in helping her father brings so much pressure . But because the mother is not present at this point, not having the her around is pressuring Angelle to grow up and make big decisions . The ethical belief that chevok highlights is that there is the main character, secondary character and the third character for example Anton Chekov states that you “get something like the night sky and a single large moon and a ste of very small stars. This explains that the moon is Angelle which is the main character and the very small starts are the secondary character which Is Angelle’s mother and the third character that is the attorney Mr. Apodaca. The absence of her mother and being away in France, because of the fact that angelle’s father had in affair with mercy for example in this quote shows “ With great legs and mascara out of don’t…

With that said, I knew I had a long life in college ahead of me immediately after completing high school if I wanted to become a veterinarian.…
