Blood, sweat, and tears, you may thinking I’m talking about a past military event, but I’m actually talking about the pride and dedication that goes into each ice sculpting masterpiece. Growing up the cold state of Michigan, the annual ice sculpting completion in Frankenmuth Michigan was never a disappointment. It was something that our family looked forward to and always brought our family together. It is truly amazing that amount of effort and attention to detail that goes into each piece of work. Having seen first had the works of art being created it is truly a site to see. The History, the different uses for ice sculpters, and the way ice scuptures are created are things that are often overlooked.

    The art work that stands out most to me is one that portrays a young boy as a soldier in the US Army. The human experience from this could be expressed as one of many, love, loss, pain, hope, despair, values, beliefs and as we hope not but even death.
