To celebrate my victory I spin in circles on my board. Moving my balance from both feet to my right foot the front of my board rises off the snow. While still spinning, I reach my right hand back to the tail of my board. The nose of the board elevates higher into the air. I can hear Alex getting closer. With the launch of one snowball I am thrown to the ground. My shoulder hits first. The impact doesn’t hurt but is enough momentum to make me slide down the powdered…

First, Joe got the keys to his dad’s F-150 , which was loaded with snow tires and a snow plow. Joe conglomerated the snow into one massive, 20 foot pile, far bigger than ever before. The in-run was as big as a two story house. Looking up to the in-run, the top of the pile glistened with the orange rays from the sun creeping under the mass of snow. After the in-run was finished, we took out the shovels and built another snow pile, which was a few inches taller than my five foot stature. The four of us spent nearly an hour sculpting the jump and grooming the in-run to perfection. Lastly, we built the landing by piling another mass of snow nearly 10 feet away from the jump. Before heading in for hot chocolate and dinner, we froze the jump so that it would harden overnight. We finished at 9 o’clock, so it was pitch black; I had no idea what the jump looked…

I tested the waters of bicycle riding by dragging my feet along the bumpy asphalt, but gravity was working against me. The incline was not allowing me stop, so jumped off. I walked away with only some bumps and bruises. The riding of my bike was put on hold for some time. My fear had gotten the best of me. It was not until the next summer that I would venture out again on my bike.…

So there I was thinking what can I do then I was like hey I have my bike in the garage so I went and I got the bike. My parents always said not to go down the hill but I was a young kid and what kid listens to his parents about a thing like that. So there I was riding my bike around the house having all kinds of fun like kids do. I have hills around the house but not like the steep hill that I was going to go down later in the day. The hill that I was going to go down was like a mountain to me and nothing I have went down…

It was a gorgeous day about five years ago. My family and I had left to Sugar mountain to practice skiing for our upcoming trip. We decided to stay for the long weekend of Labor day. So I'm going to talk about my first backflip on skis. Because if it wasn't for this accomplishment I wouldn't be doing doubles today. It happened 4 years ago I was 10 years old. I had just signed up for MBSEF. About ¾ the way into the season I got to ski with all of the older kids. And they were doing backflips on this jump up on summit. So me the “smart” 10 year old had the great idea to try my first backflip. So everyone was giving me tips on what to do and they were all encouraging me. So I dropped into the jump I hit it set backwards and went upside down and landed straight on my head :) it was very funny I didn't get hurt which was good. So the next run I went right to that same jump and tried again this time I over rotated and did 1 ½…

It was now or never, and I remember taking my first few practice runs. Completely tired and worn out I decided to just go for what was the biggest trick of my life. The seven stairs for a split second looked never ending, the rail was like a skyscraper, and I was an ant on a skateboard. As big as everything felt compared to me, I was committed to the trick and nailed the rail. I ollied precisely, locked the nose of my board on the rail and slid down like a hot knife through butter. The end of the rail came fast as if going 100 miles an hour, and the most memorable moment of my life was happening. Coming off the rail, a twist occurred and I failed to stick my perfect…

The day was hot and humid or, maybe it was cold and wet best a good memory all the same. I had just turned the ripe age of 8 although I really didn't feel like it . My one and only gift I wanted was a red bike without the training wheels but I really don't know how to ride a bike. The only thing stopping me was I did not know how to ride so the fear of falling was bottomless. I was more than willing to learn on the outside. My father saw this and said “ fears is only in your head” also my dad like to quote stuff he's seen on tv. I flashed him a fake smile and hopped on the bike with my father holding me up. We started off slow so i could get the hang of it. My body was trembling as we speeded up I gripped the handlebars tighter as I hands…
