Since the population in Iceland is very low, the number of people who own weapons is extremely low. The small population helps to keep the weapons to a minimum. According to "Pew Research Center" the article "A minority of American own guns, but just how many is unclear" states "There are by various estimates anywhere from 270 million to 310 million guns in the United States." The amount of people who own a gun in America is considerably higher than the population of Iceland as a whole. Even with a population of around 330,000 people, not every single one of those people are going to have a weapon. A newborn child isn't going have a weapon. Therefore this keeps the weapons in the country low. Iceland received a two out of five for the weapons that are imported to the country.
