Introduction
This paper seeks to identify, analyse the key economic, political and social issues of Poland. This assignment will provide historic background of the Polish economy. Assignment will briefly explain how Poland transition from the state managed command economy into the free market economy, which brought democracy to polish society in 1989.
Last five years show that Poland has been one of the stronger performers, compared to other members of the European Union and has not been affected by the global economic crisis began in 2008. At beginning of 2013
Poland shows of the economic slowdown, however Poland is still managing to deliver positive economic growth.
Many areas of the Polish economy are constantly struggling, and the only way to prevent future recession, the government has to consider introduction of major reforms by the government targeting problematic areas of the economy.

This assignment will attempt to address several of those issues that currently are facing Polish nation.
Finally this paper will offer recommendation for the future strategic direction that Poland should consider in order to secure stable increase of the economic growth and to avoid negative GDP in coming years.
Poland was chosen for this assignment as it is the only European country, which avoided recession.
Poland is a great example of well implemented transition plan of how the country can successfully move from the command to the free market economy and prosper as a democratic society.
