Immaturity In Romeo And Juliet

In Romeo and Juliet, a play by William Shakespeare,there is a character who is a star crossed lover who falls in “love” with any beautiful lady. This character is Romeo. Romeo is immature, fickle, and passionate character who falls in love so quickly and with this falls in love with Juliet, the enemy. The qualities immaturity, fickleness, and passion are a key factor in the characterization of Romeo. Romeo throughout the play is very immature and childish. This is shown when he starts falling into a depression because he can't have Rosaline (1.1). This shows immaturity, because he is like a kid who starts crying when he doesn't get what he wants and basically Romeo is sad because Rosaline doesn't love him back and is planning to
This means he changes his mind a lot. This is shown because Romeo is hung up on Rosaline then at the Capulet party decides he is in love with Juliet (1.5). This shows Romeo is fickle because he changed his mind very quickly from Rosaline to Juliet. Then in Romeo says love is chaos but then sort of goes from that to thinking love is the answer. (1.2) This definitely shows Romeo changes his mind quickly. To end, Romeo is also very passionate. Which means he feels strongly and forcefully about several subjects. To begin, Romeo and Juliet have only known each other for a week or several days and Romeo feels so strongly he creates a plan to marry Juliet. (3.3). This shows that Romeo is passionate toward his love, Juliet, and will do anything for her. Also, in the beginning Romeo is all about Rosaline. By this I mean he is depressed because of her. (1.2) This shows Romeo is passionate because he is so in love with her and when she rejects him, he is sad and isolates himself. In conclusion Romeo is a very fickle, passionate. Immature Character who needs to grow up and get a sense of the real world. The star crossed lover who falls for anybody can be characterized by the traits above and would probably continue to fall in love quickly
