During the many obstacles of immigration in the nineteenth century, the Irish, Italian, Jewish and Chinese immigrants all were mistreated and discriminated against by Americans. The Americans did not like the fact that immigrants took jobs and worked for less money than that of the Americans. Since the nineteenth century, the Americans have put massive stress on the government to lower immigration.
