Many new advancements from the 20th century helped the American identity in lots of ways. For example, in the 1920s the first car was invented while during the westward expansion, industrialization had railroads built for Americans to get around for production. Another advancement that was invented was the spinning wheel to help others make clothing. These inventions have increased greatly and assisted the American identity because without these creations citizens wouldn’t have heating, cooling, or electricity that there is in today’s society. This would negatively affect our life because back then, people didn’t have any air conditioning when they were hot from working hard in the fields. If today there was none, then there wouldn’t be a way
