Inter professional practice occurs when healthcare providers work with people from within their own profession, outside their profession and with patients families. By working collaboratively as a team with other health disciplines e.g. nurses and it can be expected that the quality of the health will rise, and avoid the consequences of ineffective communication within the team, which may lead to inefficient care for the patient. “Medical errors, especially those caused by a failure to communicate, are a pervasive problem in today’s health care organizations”.
