In the U.S. Army a positive attitude is very important part of every soldier’s military barring. A positive attitude often shows the motivation in a soldier’s work and his day to day duties. It is important because if one soldier shows the right attitude it motivates others to do the same. As soldiers we are required to do many things that are difficult to one person or the next, and in some cases our duties can become frustrating and the lack of motivation can come into play. However all it takes is the will power, and the drive to keep going no matter what.
Positive attitudes are extremely important on patrols. While a soldier is on a patrol they have to not only think of what their task at hand is but also for the well being of their fellow team mates. If you and your team mates are outside of the wire and conducting a patrol and one soldier gives up it puts the entire element in danger. This is unacceptable from a U.S. soldier. As a soldier you must have a positive attitude and continue the mission. The mission comes first, wheat ever problems a soldier encounters he must overcome and adapt. The best way to do so is keep a positive attitude and remember you are not the only person out there that is sucking.
As a leaders it is important to show a positive attitude because he has a direct influence on his soldiers. If a leader shows this trait his soldiers will naturally follow his example and follow suit. Positive attitudes held by a solders leaders is often a big morale booster and keeps everyone motivated. Motivation is often contagious and helps everyone to work off each other’s motivation. As leaders a good way to keep soldiers motivated is to show motivation in all their actions, whether it’s a detail for taking the trash to the trash point or something as important as a mission. A little motivation can go a long way.
A positive attitude can help you in your personal life as well as your military life. A
