The article I have chosen, highlights the different realms in which we discuss the current change in climate. The article “In America’s Heartland, Discussing Climate Change Without Saying ‘Climate Change’”, by Hiroko Tabuchi, focuses on the politics, farming, education, and media portrayal of how we deal with current problem of climate change. Like Gullickson said, the public’s backlash can destroy a publications credibility with the world. However, I think it is this controversy that creates such meaning to people. For example, this huge controversy over what to call climate change enticed Tabuchi and the New York Times to write and publish this very article. I thought Gullickson’s gutsy call to title his piece, “@#$*% Weather!”, paid off. The title reflects a bold, crude truth that just could not be express without the curse word in the title. I think it has a sobering effect to the readers that makes them want to read the piece but invoke thought about how the human population is changing the weather of the entire earth. The media allows people to express their thoughts and have their voices heard. This is something not all people around the world get to
