During the 1947-1991, The Cold War was known to be one of the longest standoff feud between the United States and Soviet Union. The United States and Soviet Union was sworn allies when fighting the Nazi Germany. However, the aftermath conferred to political powers and struggle of influence became a factor after the United States, Great Britain, France and Soviet Union claim territory over Germany. Soviet Union being the “black sheep” opposing western powers influence. Eventually, their alliance began to flounder as soon claims over territory and the reconstructing of the Berlin Walls. The Cold War is a great historical example of how diplomacy and negotiation are to be handle. World war would be another devastation to the world after its tremendous loss of casualties, infrastructures and political stability. The United States and Soviet Union strategic plans of influencing the world is by using other nations as a battle ground for their interest, however never fought against one another directly. From the beginning of the Cold War, the communist party of China succeeded in fighting the civil war against the nationalist party.
The Nationalist party of China took refuge on the island of Taiwan after their defeat against the communist party. The United States continues its support to Taiwan. Afterwards the communist influence made its way to the Korean peninsula. North Korean Attack South Korea which led the United States involvement of supporting South Korea. Russia and China joined the fight against the United States and South Korea. Shortly after the Vietnam War and Cuba crisis became an opening point if there would be another world

The Cold war was a long bittersweet conflict of between the superpowers, however the two succeeded in not having to go to war with each other head on. It seems as if they knew if they were to fight on each other’s land it would destabilize their role widely around the world. There were times when world war 3 could have occurred however the leaders were able to deescalate the conflict.
