Social Factors
Social factors emphasises values that families hold function together every day. The values are based on their cultural beliefs, religion, gender, traditions, social class, ethnicity, location and sexuality. All these factors important when we are in the Health care environment.
Equality is also about giving every NHS staff employed equality of opportunity so they are able to fulfil their potential regardless of their social background. As a service provider, every patient is admitted to the best care available without discriminating them based on their social background.
Diversity is about creating a health care staffs working toward achieving practices which recognise, respect and value difference among different and diverse patients seeking help. This will always benefit the Trust and employees, as a whole and the public who use the services.
Example:
If a staff is religious belief requires her to cover her head then it is possible that the Trust provided a reasonable option that will reflect her religious belief and that of the Trust.
There are also patients who require care provided by same sex person. Then the Trust must provide option that the patient request is respected.
Political Factors
The government has a duty ensure that in a diverse society, every single subject is provided with equal access to their needs protected by legislation, policies and practices. Through the process of law every individual in the country is give equal rights and freedom to have a choice to their lives.
