Informative Essay: Women In The Military

Women in military Most of people think that women are not able to deal with physical jobs. In earlier times people always used women only for cooking, raising children, washing clothes, and other things. On those times women did not have any chance to get involved in random life and a lot of things were prevented to them. The cruelest thing that was prohibited to women was the right of education. For many years this was part of our lives especially to Albanians. Everyone considered it like a good thing because they thought that women were not able to do something else. This was argued by lot of scientists. Some say that women is limited at her skills and strength, but I don`t agree with that. The first thing that makes me in contradiction
with these thoughts is the fact that women have shown their skills in many fields and they have convinced everyone that they deserve more than staying at home the whole day. Women are making big profits to economy by owning successful businesses. As we all know a lot of people complaints about unemployment. To improve this field, not only men contributed. A report shows that around 8 million women in United Stated gain nearly 1.3 trillion dollars and make a very big number of employees, around 7.7 million people. This is a lot much better than men’s firms which grew only half of the rate of women’s firms (S. Parsons. “American Express OPEN State of Women-Owned Business Report.” Web. 24 Oct. 2011. ). This shows us that women have more ability on leading and taking responsibilities. One of the most important abilities that someone must have to be part of the military is strength.
Women usually are treated weaker than men. Most of people think that men are more prepared physically and mentally. That is not true at all. Women are more strong when is about tolerating pain. Of course in first view that can’t be convincible, however facts and statistics show us the true. Women can face pain in more body areas and they have double more nerve fibers that provide them a very easy way to handle the pain (Dan Abrams. “Man Down”. March 2011. Arbrams Image. Web. 24 Oct. 2011.). Also, women’s smelling sense is better than
men’s.
The war makes us deal with different hard situations. Some of them are: running a lot of kilometers, no sleep for days, no food, limited drinks, etc. Also, in this field women have to many advantages. Women resist long running a lot and they process oxygen much easier (Dan Abrams. “Man Down”. March 2011. Arbrams Image. Web. 24 Oct. 2011.). Another thing is that women are able to stand longer without eating and drinking and they still will have a clear mind to take important decision. So leading is never absent to women. Nowadays we have a very small number of women who lead their country. Kosova is one of them.
There are a lot more advantages that prove that women really are able to be part of military.
As a great example is Colonel Cheri Provancha who participated in wars and very extreme battles. But, not only in infantry women are present; they are part of submarines, air forces and land forces. Another advantage of the women in war is that they are more immune to diseases and infections. In wars a lot of soldiers get infected by different diseases which they can`t resist. Here women are very helpful, too. They can take care of the infected soldiers or cure the wounds when they are injured.(“Women are biologically stronger than men” Chapter 25. Web. 24 Oct. 2011.) Another role of women in the army is to prepare the food and as we all know they have great skills and intelligence so they could motivate the other
members.
There are a lot more proves that women really should be part of military. We need them because they are very vigilant and take very fast and smart decisions. Now we live on the time where everyone has equal opportunities and women especially should use this time to get more involve and to give their contribution. When a decision is taken it must have a lot of analyses and ideas first. It is not said that only men should be part of the military only because of their strength. There is another part that military needs the most and that is brain. So it’s good to have women in the army because they can play a lot of roles and maybe a lot more than men can. If we want the military to be more productive and successful, than the government should really initiate a plan to make women more informed with military program. If the military wants to have more success and to work better, than it should recruit more women and maybe to have the same number of members of both genders.
