: To inform my audience about the advantages and disadvantages of social networks.
Central Idea: Social Networks
Introduction:
I. How many times a day do you find yourself checking Instagram,
Facebook, Twitter and/or Snapchat? II. Social Networks has advanced throughout the years and our generation has experienced it. III. According to Pew Internet Project 92 percent of people between the ages of 18 and 29 use social network sites and 73 percent of college students use social networks. IV. The use of social networks has a huge impact on our lives. V. I’m here today to speak about the advantages and disadvantages of social networks.
(Transition: Let’s start with some advantages of Social Networks first.) Body:
I. One advantage of Social Networks is being able to connect with others. A. They connect you with old friends from elementary school and even helps make new “friends”. B. Helps you find a significant other, if you’re having trouble in that department. II. Another advantage is
(Transition: Now let’s discuss some disadvantages.)
I. A disadvantage of social networks is that it’s time consuming.
A. It’s very easy to get distracted when you’re on the web liking pictures, retweeting and tweeting. B. It takes away from more important things that you should be doing like homework etc.
II. Another disadvantage is it’s easier to steal someone’s information, A. You can steal someone identity Conclusion:
