Informative Speech: Donald Trump

Specific Purpose: At the end of my speech, the audience will know more about Donald Trump.

Introduction

I. Does anyone know who’s famous line is “you’re fired!”? Donald Trump. Whether you have seen him on the Apprentice or see him all over the news, Donald Trump seems to be in the media quite a lot. II. By the end of this speech, you will have learned more about the life of Donald Trump. III. We are all business students and Donald Trump has stood out in the business world. IV. I have read a book by Donald Trump and actively read his twitter feed, so I am up-to-date on his media coverage. V. The three aspects of Donald Trump’s life that I will inform you about are what he is known for, his success in business, and his legal struggles.

Body

I. So first I am going to talk about what Donald Trump is known for in the media. A. You may know Donald Trump for his role on the NBC show, The Apprentice. 1. It’s a reality show where contestants have to compete in teams and there are business tasks set by Donald Trump. a. The winner gets to work on a project. The first winner actually created one of the nicest hotels in the nation, which we will talk about later. 2. It’s been on television since 2004 and is in it’s 13th season coming up. a. Half of the seasons are “normal” everyday people, but the other 6 seasons have celebrity contestants. i. Some celebrities that you might know that have been on the show are Sharon Osborne and Lisa Lampanelli. ii. Piers Morgan and Joan Rivers have both won a season. B. He is also known for his ownership of Miss Universe Organization. a. He co-owns the Miss Universe Organization along with NBC. b. The Miss Universe Organization covers the Miss Universe, Miss USA, and Miss Teen USA beauty pageants. C. Trump is often in the media for his involvement with politics. 1. Many of you probably know that Donald Trump seriously considered
