Specific purpose: I will inform my audience about the history of softball to present day.
Thesis (central Idea): Based on historical research softball has grown to be one of the top played sports around the world.

III. Transistion: Softball has been around a lot longer then most people think and the changes along the way have made it a very successful sport.
Summary: To wrap this up, Softball was created by George Hannock in 1887 at a Harvard-Yale football game. ASA was formed in 1933 and is still operating today. AAGBL was from 1943-1954, which began because of WWII to help people focus on the homefront and to keep people positive about the hardships they had to face. Softball today is not only for young girls but also for men and women wanting to play slow pitch and/or fast pitch.
