If the runner reaches base on time he is considered SAFE .
Then he must stay at the base until the next batter hits the ball.
He is only allowed to leave his base when the racket contacts the ball. Achieved a runner the home plate, his team scored a run. But he must have touched at least every base in the right order. A runner is not allowed to overtake other runners.

Defense:
The players of the defense team try to catch the batted ball as soon as possible and the they try to throw them to a teammate at that base, where the runner is running.
If the defense player can touch the base with the ball before the runner arrives at the base, the runner is OUT. But the runner has to have the ball save in his hand, if he drops the ball, the runner is SAFE.
If the defense player can touch the runner with the ball in his hand, the runner is OUT too. OUT: Achieved the Defense 3 outs, the defense and offence team change positions. Now the offence team plays as defense and the defense are offence.

The last most common way to turn a double play in baseball is kinda tough on the first baseman. There's a runner on first when he receives the ground ball. Then, he turns and throws it to the shortstop, who is waiting to receive the ball. Once he has received the ball at second base, he throws the ball back to first base. By then, the first baseman has back peddled fast enough to the bag to receive the ball from the shortstop to make the second out of the ¨3-6-3.¨…

While the natural beginning of the swing is a downward motion, ideal contact should happen at the bottom of the inverted arc. Hitting ground balls in Little League games may produce more hits at a young age, this often leads to more frustrating ground ball outs and time and training to break this habit at the higher levels.…

Before all of the numbers, cheating, and steroid use that are now common things found in today’s baseball, George Herman “Babe” Ruth did it all. He routinely pitched nine innings, then the following day he would be out in the field somewhere throwing out runners from every position possible on the field, and one cannot forget his slugging power. In the year 1921 Babe Ruth…

Instant replay in baseball is a topic that has been discussed more and more recently over the past years. There have been numerous accounts of botched calls over the years due to the fact of the delay of when, where, and how will this system be put in place. There has also been criticism on whether the game should be changed to a football style system where each team would get two challenges per game throughout the entirety of a 162 game season. Some people believe that this would only lengthen an already long season. According to the article “Against instant replay”, these are only “once-in-a-decade events”.…

Umpires in baseball have too much power when it comes to deciding calls. A perfect example is umpire Angel Hernandez in an A’s versus Indians game earlier this month. It is believed that “Hernandez refused to overturn the bungled home run call in Wednesday 's A 's/Indians game because he opposes instant replay in baseball. The claim may be impossible to prove, but there 's logic to the theory. Video of the play in question provided clear evidence. It was a home run.” (Malafronte, 1) Just because an umpire opposes instant replay doesn’t mean that it shouldn’t be shown. Umpires should not have the power to decide not to show a replay just because they don’t want to. If a replay is necessary it should be shown. A rule needs to be established that if a play is too close to call then it should be up to instant replay to decide.…

Baseball is a game of skill that requires two teams consisting of nine players; a field, and equipment, such as gloves, bats and baseballs. To start, you will need nine willing players per team to participate. One team plays defence in the field , while the other plays offense at bat. The pitcher throws the baseball to the catcher with a offensive hitter in the batter's box trying to hit the pitched ball. Next, the umpire is the official that calls balls and strikes. A strike is a pitch thrown by the pitcher that crosses the plane of home plate between the hitters knees and letters, which is chest height. If it is within this zone, it’s a strike. If the pitch is not in this zone, it is a ball. If the hitter does not hit the pitch into the playing field before receiving three strikes, he is out.…

Innings are played when one team tries to score a run and the other teams tries to get them out. The way the other teams get the players out before they get a run by simply tagging them with the ball in their glove or by passing the ball to the base the player is running to before the player gets to that base. The opposing teams needs to make three runs to be able to switch. Let’s say the Red Socks and the Cardinals are playing a game against each other. If the Red socks are up to bat and Cardinals win three outs then they switch off positions. That means that then the Cardinals are now up to bat and the Red Socks are trying to get the Cardinals out. Once both teams have batted once then that means one inning has gone…
