In the 21st century, if schools truly are preparing the students for the workforce, schools must reconsider what technologies should be adopted and imparted to the students. Technologies should be used to transform how teaching and learning goes on in the classrooms. These essential skills in using technology would equip the students with knowledge and skills to keep up in a rapidly changing world. Some of these tools have actually been around for years, all these tools are like crayons: they are just tools that can make and do good things (e.g. art) or make a mess (Gee, 2013). In the 21st century, change is the only constant. The way we socialize has changed. The senior citizens have just learnt how to use Facebook to connect with their long lost friends, but the youths have moved on to other interesting social platforms such as Instagram and Snapchat to share their experiences. Some 5 years ago when schools dipped their feet into the Infocomms Technology Master Plan 3 (MP3), In my school then, there was a struggle to decide what tool would be the best; to use the existing Learning Management System(LMS) or try Google Sites. LMS then, was largely Web 1.0 technology. It allowed a secure environment for students to take tests, watch media, and for teachers to receive instant reports. LMS also has its perks because it is really a paid resource. LMS also offered ready to use resources that were aligned to each level and syllabus. Googles Sites are exciting because I had the freedom to set up a whole environment quickly for specific interest groups, plus I could offer students the protected environment to air their
