Explain the global manager’s role in global organisations and identify the important skill-sets that global managers must possess in order to fulfil their role.
Make recommendations on how the identified skill-sets can be cultivated.

Executive Summary
The objective of this report is to investigate the role and skill-sets a global manager must possess when working in an environment which requires the understanding of different culture.
It is undeniable that managers in the twenty first century are operating in a challenging, dynamic, interdependent and complex global environment. Clearly, strategies and management style which are involved in international and global businesses must be adjusted in order to operate successfully (Deresky, 2014, 18). A global manager is basically someone with knowledge of running the company across borders in the company. They have to be trained under global management aspects such as culture and communication with foreign countries (Ask 2014). There are three important roles for global managers in order for a company to work globally – country manager, functional manager, and business leader. It is very important to understand the global business environment despite any level of involvement as it would effect a manager 's role. Within the larger context of global trends and competition, the rules of game for the global managers are set by each country: political and economic agenda, technological status, level of development, regulatory environment, comparative and competitive advantages and cultural norms (Deresky, 2014, 32). With these roles, comes certain skill set that each managers must acquire in order to manage a firm globally. The
