In the first stanza, this poem describes darkness. This poem is showing that something has affected the author in a way that is unconquerable. This feeling could describe the climax of your senior year. For instance, I may get this feeling whenever I am trying to hassle and get my college applications together. I may feel like giving up. Whenever the poet says “I am the master of my fate” is saying that you own your mistakes. You must always become stronger whenever you do a mistake. Learning from your mistakes is a key thing when it comes to pushing forward. Following this concept will help you become more successful in life. With the last line “I am the captain of my soul” is saying that you control your life. You decide what path you want to take whether it is good or bad You can not blame anybody but yourself for the outcome of your life. Both of these lines can relate to your senior year.
