Iphonious should sacrifice his love for Ceria in order to lead Ithaca. The other gods believe the two should be together and Iphonious should give up his future title. I understand the where the other gods are coming from, but I have to disagree. The gods should only send Hermes to assure their support in delivering the message to Ceria that Iphonious has chosen to become the future authority of Ithaca.
Iphonious will carry on the family throne by giving up his love for Ceria. Like his family before him, Odysseus and Telemachus, Iphonious will get to rule Ithaca. When Odysseus’ journey took place Telemachus took over. He learned from his dad how to be a strong leader by not to letting the suitors take over. Iphonious will benefit the greater good by insuring a knowledgeable ruler for his kingdom. If Iphonious follows his heart to Ceria, then he only benefits himself. Just like Iphonious, I faced a decision. The gods began to fear these creatures called the Alodae giants, so I knew I had to help. I killed the giants to prevent future deaths caused by them by putting myself in a leadership position and acting on it. Iphonious should administer Ithaca someday because it would benefit many people to have a knowledgeable ruler.
Iphonious’ love with Ceria became too much of a perplexing dilemma. I do not waste my time with men because love becomes too complicated for me. One day, I was bathing outdoors when I spotted a man who was staring at me! He told me it was an accident that he saw me, but I grew suspicious and angry. I splashed water on him that turned him into a stag and fed him to my hunting dogs. Love, by any means, always ends up chaotic. I believe Iphonious is better off without love at all and should focus solely on ruling Ithaca.
Ceria does not have to be Iphonious’ only chance at finding love.
There are many women out there, not just Ceria. Iphonious should go back to Ithaca and become the ruler. There, he find a woman if he desires. Together, Orion and I hunted as companions and grew closer. Orion even wanted to marry me at one point. I understand the special connection Iphonious and Ceria feel for each other, but Iphonious needs to realize that there are other women in the world. Ceria is most definitely not Iphonious’ only shot at being in love.
The gods should not intervene with the love between Iphonious and Ceria because there will be repercussions of their actions. It is better to let Hermes tell Ceria about Iphonious’ decision and then leave it alone. Iphonious will carry on the family throne by becoming king. Iphonious is best to leave Ceria because his love with her has already become too chaotic to carry on with. Ceria is not the only girl Iphonious will ever meet! There are plenty of women out there for Iphonious to share a life with. When dealing as something so powerful as love, it is best for Iphonious to leave Ceria and become ruler of
Ithaca.
