In the story “to kill a mockingbird” Mayella is not powerful for she lacks many things in order to bend the will of others, or shape important decisions that will affect someone’s life one way or another without needing someone else to do it for her, like a judge. Mayella seems to think a drunk, hyper-racist man can remember something that isn’t more racism or booze for more than a short time. She can’t convict more men because then she would be arrested for false rape accusations for life.
