Is Ponyboy A Hero
Who do you think is the biggest hero in the Outsiders? Most people think that heroes have to stop bank robberies or the end of the world. Actually, heroes can be normal everyday people, they could be sitting next to you and you would never realize it. A hero is someone who has a good personality and does the right thing. In the Outsiders, Ponyboy is the biggest hero because he’s courageous and good at just about anything.
Ponyboy is the most courageous person in the Outsiders. Who would go into a burning building that was about to collapse, just to save some kids? Not many people would do that, but Ponyboy did. Also, when Johnny killed Bob he could have stayed and blamed Johnny for killing him, but he had the guts to run with Johnny.

The Outsiders book is a great book that is action packed, joke filled, and great for imagination. In the book it shows the hardship of the “Greasers” lives versus the hardships of the “Socs” lives which were supposedly much easier. It also shows the thoughts that ran through Ponyboy's head as and after he was helping the kids safely out of the burning church. In the book, Sodapop looks the best by far. “Soda is handsomer than anyone I know (Hinton 7).” Johnny is just a scrawny little boy. Ponyboy has long greased back hair. “My hair is longer than a lot of boys (Hinton 1).” Darry looks tough and mean. Dally is hard,…

The Outsiders is an adolescent book about a gang of young adults and teens in the 60’s. They encounter a lot problems along the way and almost all of the characters emerge as heroes at one point. Everyone's definition of a hero is different, so everyone will have a different person who they think was the most heroic. My definition of a hero is someone who is selfless, kind, brave, someone who helps people, and someone who risks their lives for others. I think that Johnny best fits this description perfectly.…

The title of this book relates to the story, because in the book, Ponyboy and Johnny are "outsiders." They can be thought of as Outsiders because they are labeled Greasers although they do not act like hoodlums, like the rest of the Greasers. They are thought of as Greasers just because they live on the East Side of town, and because they slick back their hair. But Ponyboy and Johnny are different then all of the other Greasers because they show their emotions, and are sensitive.…
