Music stems from one of two places: the carnal flesh, or the converted heart. Rock music stems from Satan and from sin and if I am to be a Christian who is separated from the world, it would be wrong for me to listen to music that stems from the world.
The lyrics that rock music contains are crude and corrupt. The lyrics promote rebellion, drugs, anarchy, sex and demons. The rock songs of today are depressing and a Christian who listens to rock music will have a low self esteem when he should be putting his faith and confidence in Christ.
The beat in rock music will give me a desire to dance in a way that is sensual and ungodly. Any music that gives me a desire to move my body in worldly, sinful ways is wrong. If music has a “poppy” beat that will give me the desire dance or go against Christ, then that music is not God-honoring. Supposing that a song has good lyrics, but has a bad sound, that is mixing the world with God’s utmost perfection, and that is dishonoring to our perfect God. …show more content…
When one listens to rock music they are damaging their way of thinking. Rock music affects the mood. It is not good for a Christian to be depressed! We as Christians should have joy in Christ.
Another reason to avoid rock music is because we as Christians should not support the industry in any way. The people who create rock music live such ungodly lives filled with emptiness and
