about the placement of the stroke I would like it to occur in the left hemisphere of my parietal lobe. The parietal lobe is the one that controls tactile functions which are taste, touch and etc. The left hemisphere of the brain is the one that controls logic, math, language and the right side of the body.
The reason I choose the parietal lobe is because out of all the different parts of the brain the parietal lobe was the one that I could see myself being able to live without.
I love to draw and read so the occipital lobe would not be one that I would want to damage. I am a musician so if I damaged my temporal lobe I would lose my ability to hear very well. The frontal lobe did not seem reasonable for me to damage because I would lose my ability to remember things and plan stuff. Having my parietal lobe damaged in the left hemisphere I would lose the ability to problem solve and have some of my senses as well as the ability to control the right side of my body. Since I am right handed I use the right side of my body more dominantly, with the stroke damaging my left hemisphere I would have to learn how to use the left side of my body. Activities that I would normally do easily will become harder because I would need to train my left hand to do it. I would also have to learn how to handle not having all my senses, although I do enjoy the ability to feel something when I touch it and to taste food I felt that I would be able to live if I did not have those abilities. I would have to use my imagination about what it was like which is why I did not want to damage my creative side. Since I will have a lack of ability to understand language, mathematical problems and think logically I will have to use my more abstract mind frame to determine how to solve a
problem.
