Island By Langston Hughes

“Island” poem wrote by Langston Hughes, Langston Hughes is very popular writer who know for an identifiable rhythm or beat. His poems always make reader aspiration in many ways, example his dreams makes readers to think about hidden dreams and lost dreams. “Balloon of the Mind” by W. B. Yeats who is also a popular writer too who received the nobel prize for literature in 1923. However, both poems have way different topics where there is no related to each other but the idea of the themes are the same. They both carries similar command or authorities.

“Balloon of the mind took place in small space where there is not even big space for big thinking. Setting took place in narrow shed where there is not even have enough space for shelter. Basically,” Balloon of the Mind” want to keep own control and just ordering his hand to do what it supposed to do.
Poem “Island” is seeking for help. It has long way to reach where is it destination. By “do not drown me now”(2) it also mean that he is begging god for not drown in the ocean. It make a very deep prayers of not fall into that deep ocean and end of
These poem carries lots of pain, sorrow, and insight thought. Who can never understand and it feeling. “Wave of sorrow” (1) has very deep thought because let say if someone is not very scare of losing self doesn’t sound like that. This person sound like it is very hard his/her to lose his life. What make reader to think about very deep pain is it is very big thing to compare its pain to the wave of water. Wave of water is not less amount it contain more than what other people think.
Emotion played huge role in poem “Balloon of the Mind” It seems like Balloon of the mind poem desperate on it own thoughts. First to last it sound like someone talk in emotional way. It sound very sad, and depressing. Even someone know without telling them about frustration.
In conclusion, however both poem has so many similarities but even within than there is so many differences insight them. Like both have great tones, but one sound like a song and one sound like not song. “Balloon of the Mind sounds” someone talk and “Island’ sound like sound but they both have rhymes. “Balloon of the Mind” upset the reader's expectations because when someone read to us doesn’t sound like rhyme but when we look by yourself there is rhymes. Island poem doesn’t have motivation for readers but Balloon of the mind has motivation for readers. Even thought and emotions sounds like very different but the purpose are same.
