ISO 26000 History * In 2004, ISO held an international conference of multiple stakeholders on the question of whether or not to launch the SR standard. * In late 2004, the positive recommendation of this conference meant the creation of the Working Group on Social Responsibility. * In 2010, ISO26000 was created.
What is ISO26000?
ISO26000 is an ISO International Standard that provides guidance on Social Responsibility. It is designed to be used by organizations of all kinds, both public and private sectors, in developed and developing countries and economies in transition. The standard will help them in their efforts to operate in the socially responsible manner that society increasingly demands.
Main aspects: * No certification to ISO (guidelines) * Take into account the expectations of stakeholders * Introduce the notion of ethics related to the corporate governance * In compliance with applicable law and international norms
