One was about the issue of honesty and the other is about trying to be separated but the love was so strong that couldn’t happen. These legends reflect the culture by showing love is possible but you have to be faithful. The values love and honesty are shown in these legends. They prove that love is strong in Italy and honesty is very much wanted. The oral tradition altered the historical facts by changing the story. When people told the stories, some told it different. The two myths I used are Romulus Remus and The Befana. Romulus & Remus is about twin brothers (sons of either Roman God Mars or Hercules and mother Rhea) who were abandoned. A female wolf nursed them and a woodpecker brought them food. Then later they were taken care of by a couple who were farmers. They soon learned the truth of where they came from and didn’t believe it. Romulus and Remus soon killed Amulius. After that they found a new city what is now known as Rome. The Befana is about a good witch that shows up on January 6th. The Befana is believed to be another Santa Claus. She know who has been good and who has been bad. Love is evident in “The Talking Tree” by the king trying to find love and doing anything possible to achieve love. Honesty isn’t shown in “Pinocchio” but it is along the line of honesty. This story teaches people that lying is frowned upon, and that honesty is important. Oral tradition contributed to the widespread belief in imaginary creatures by telling the stories and changing them as time went on. An archetype is a repeating pattern of human behavior. A hero’s journey is a narrative founded by Joseph Campbell, that is shown in drama, storytelling,myths,etc. The journey describes the events of the hero. The journey is significant because the hero is the main character or the main focus. It shows the events of the hero. The purpose is to show the struggles or strengths of the hero. It gives the reader or listener a sense of how the hero feels.The archetypal journey fits into folklore by describing the experiences that mankind went through. In the fairy tale “The Talking Tree” the hero goes through four stages of the journey. He goes through the ordinary world, the call to adventure, tests allies and enemies, and return with the
