Twelve Trees is a Canadian company that imports loose teas from China. They receive the tea in bulk from independent Chinese farmers, and package the tea in 400g, 2000g, and 5000g portions for distribution among their retailers, for the price of $110.00, $410.00, and $1,180.00, respectively. Their suppliers reside in the Lingnan area (comprising the Guangdong, Guangxi, and Fujian provinces), and they specialize in Wulong tea, although some of their suppliers also grow green, black, and white teas. During the past fiscal year, the number of retailers interested in purchasing their product in bulk has increased by 37 percent. Twelve Trees attributes their product’s rise in popularity to an increasing interest in alternative health treatments, particularly among young and middle-aged women, and to the fact that the teas are certified organic and grown in a socially responsible manner. While they are excited about the prospects of increased business, Twelve Trees is struggling to find enough Chinese farmers to fill their orders.…

Environmental Studies 190 has been an extremely beneficial course to me. This was my first quarter at the University of California, Santa Barbara as a transfer student. My first quarter was difficult for me because I was not accustomed to the pace of the system. I came from a community college that was on the semester system. There were a few classes that I was not as excited to attend every week. This course was not one of them. I was excited to come to class every Wednesday to come and listen to the wonderful people who donated their time to speak to students.…

Toyota has been the number one automobile distributor since 1935 when the founder, Kiichiro Toyoda revealed their first model the A1 and by the 1950s. Toyota had produced more than 100,000 vehicles. However, not all of Toyota’s fame has been popular. Many will remember the major automobile company by the massive number of recalls totaling nearly one million, occurring in several countries across the globe. Half of the recalls were in Japan alone, but others were in the United States, Zimbabwe, South Korea, China, and Tanzania, to name a few. The recalls were from acceleration problems in different vehicles such as the Prius, Hybrid, Camry, and Sequoia Sports Utility Vehicles. On February 1, 2010, Toyota Canada Incorporation made the announcement that it would be recalling approximately 270,000 Toyota vehicles equipped with a specific accelerator pedal assembly and suspending delivery of the eight models involved in the recall on January 26, 2010. In this paper, Team C will elaborate on Toyota and its marketplace, provide the latest corporate reports, compare the three macroeconomic variables of employment, GDP and how it relates to Toyota’s deficit performance, provide its environmental analysis, and analyze information that identifies any relationships between the United States economic trends and the operational performance of Toyota.…
