glaciers. The only food that they had was nearly depleted, this is when Shackleton had brought a group together so that food could be found. Upon arrival on Elephant Island he had brought only five people with him to find help at south georgia island while the rest stayed. Once help was found all twenty eight members of that crew survived thanks to Shackleton's leadership.
The person that would be considered to be a leader is Rob Hall from Into Thin Air.
There are many reasons why Rob is a leader but only the main one on everest was to keep every one of his clients alive one. The way up to the to of Everest and the way back to base camp came after Mr. Hall had acclimatized his clients both independently and as a group. During both summiting up to the to of Everest and way back down Rob said himself that he would take personal responsibility for the decisions he makes. The only problem to him was Ian. Rob had tried his best to keep Ian in line so that the group was in as any extra danger as possible, even though that would have made more of a difference of how everything was to go. Upon climbing he had shown persistence to go to the top and shared that with as many of the entire group that he could. Not only that he was persistent a good part of his personality was stubborn, he was more stubborn that a mule as most would say. After all of the climbing even the storm that had brewed up on the way back to base camp had done him in no matter how hard he tried, although he had more willed that both groups had gotten to base camp alive rather than have most of them dead on
everest.
