What made her special was being able to handle all of this and her husband being wanted to be killed. Jane took care of everyone, if she saw something that needed help, she was there. Jane, going to a school with mostly boys, was usually the “odd one out”, or “the odd ball”.
Jane always “went the extra mile” for people, she may not have even known them.
She always wanted to help people. She was a very outgoing child. Stretching from picking up someone’s loose change and returning it, to stopping to make sure a goat was okay because it got hit by something. Jane was always there for family, friends, family friends, and even strangers. She was like the snow white of history, everything mattered to her. Jane Long inspires me because I am the exact same way. I’m always doing good for others. Jane Long didn’t want to be rude to ANYONE, so she was nice to everybody she came in contact
with.
She stood up for what she believed. She went through a lot, and still hung in there. Jane Long was significant to Texas history because she was Strong, Intelligent, and Outgoing. Jane never stopped wanting to be the best she could be. That is why Jane Long is so important in Texas history. From her cradle to her headstone, Jane Long was a very intelligent, loving person. Everyone who knew her was doleful to see her leave this world, but behind she left her name “The Mother Of Texas.”
