Summary of ”Sports Leader”
A young halcyon boy is hired by a window cleaner albeit it was as a favor. The new boy had failed all of his exams, which caused the foster mother to become exasperated since he would lay back on the couch and watch TV all day. However, he is now employed by the window cleaner and the quintessence of their relationship is trust and reliability. The boy has a focal point of admiration on the latter when cleaning windows; he received a window into someone else’s life. Phil, the window cleaner, determines the boy to be trustworthy enough to become the collector. The boy did the job with felicity since he enjoys the presence of himself. He collects from an old classmates’ house who questions him about the total amount of money and later robs him. Phil is critical of the situation and goes to examine it. The classmate denies the accusations and this impact causes the boy to be laid off. Despite all of this he is without concerns, he simply wondered if Eileen would let him watch TV.
Characterization of the boy
The boy is a perfect display of lacking the understanding of critical consequences. He fails all of his exams despite having some ambitions, he gets laid off and does not consider anything but the fact that he is able to watch TV again. He is incapable of juxtaposing the pros and cons of his current situation, furthermore shows no significant remorse towards being stationary in life and manifests no proper thoughts of evolving. He conveys no signs of burst in his feelings, which leads to believe that he might be some sort of sociopath. His reaction to being fired portrays nothing:
And Phil told him not to come back Monday morning. He was trying to unlock the garage as he said it, so he didn’t really look at the boy. Just said,
“See ya then”
“See ya,” said the boy
It seems as if there is no disclosure to the boys mind when viewed from the outside, it could be suggested that he simply lacks general
