Jealousy In Othello

Imagine your significant other was “cheating” on you? this might cause you to have hatred. The hero in william shakespeare’s Othello and uncontrolled jealousy dominating . Being Jealous of someone will cause hatred toward that person. Jealousy is a complicated emotion. In the play, Othello hits Desdemona and says,“(striking her) you devil (Act,scene 1,page 13) Othello let his emotion get to him and end up hitting the one he loves. This is similar to the quote by Lannutti and Bevan “behavioral jealousy are actions that occur between an individual who is experiencing envious thoughts and how they internalize and react to the stimuli” (Lannutti,Bevan). By this, Lannutti and Bevan means that showing a desire to have what someone else have will cause you have hatred toward to that person. When othello hits desdemona,this is act of jealousy.
