Christianity is one religion that has faced many struggles. People judge it, yet it remains strong. Jehovah’s Witness is a religion that borrows certain principles of Christianity. Many people question this religion, and it has been greatly judged by a great deal of people because they do not believe in the Trinity, or what most people know as “The Holy Spirit.” Today, Jehovah’s Witnesses are well known for going door-to-door, preaching to people in an effort to convert them to their beliefs by using religious literature. According to Kiran Chand, Bala Subramanya, and Venkateswara Rao state in their article called, “Management of Patients who Refuse Blood Transfusion,” (2014) Jehovah’s Witnesses deny blood transfusions or any medical treatment that has to do with accepting foreign blood based on their biblical beliefs. In the year 1945, the JW’s banned anyone to receive any product of blood that was not their own. The scripture that backs up this particular belief is based on the readings found in Leviticus 17:14, and Acts 15:28-29 (p.658). Anyone who is a follower of this religious group must refuse any type of blood transfusion and sign a waiver denying any blood related product, even if it means death.
