Once she caught up to me she said, “Thanks for waiting.” “What do you want,” I said glaring down at her
“Well,” she said, “ I been thinking ‘bout what had happened about a month ago in Strawberry.”
“Yeah” I said questioningly?
“ Well, to tell you the truth, I was real upset for a while. But my papa told me it don’t do no good sitting around being mad. Then I seen how things was. I mean I should’ve seen it all along. After all, I’m who I am and you’re who you are.” …show more content…
I looked at her amazed that she now get’s it so well.
She then offered to carry my books for me. I was pleased that Cassie finally got the way things were. She walked me to the crossroads, then waved to me, good-bye. Through the month of January she was my little servant. I waited for her every day to carry my books. I would bring my friends so that I could brag about my little servant. I started to gain trust in Cassie, I even confessed my deepest secrets to her. I told her who I loved and how I got his attention. A few days later Cassie waited for me. I gave her my books again.
Cassie said, “Scuse me, I got a real nice surprise for
you.”
“For me,” I asked, “You're a sweet little girl Cassie, Where do you say it is?”
“Follow me, I’ll show you.”
Cassie took me to a hanging forest, secluded from the road. Out of nowhere she slams my books to the ground.
“I screamed at her saying, “Why did you do that!”
Cassie said, “I threw them to the ground because she got tired of carrying them.” I can’t believe that Cassie made me go out of my way for this.
I became very angry and yelled. “ We’ll pick’em up again.”
“Make me,” said Cassie.
She became very mad herself, face became red with anger. I became even more angry and gave her a hard slap right across the face. I didn’t think that she would decide to hit me back. Then she slammed her body into mine throwing me to the ground. She laid her hands on me, I was struggling to fight back. Cassie began to hit me in the stomach and she pulled my hair. I began calling her names so I could try to mentally hurt her so she would stop hurting me. She held me down to the floor and demanded I apologize to her for all the names I had called her. She threatened me to rip out all my hair if I didn't apologize. She also made me apologize for all the names that my father, mother and brothers had called her. Once she had finally stopped jerking at my head I ran as fast I could to the road. I told her I was going to tell my father. My father would have pinned Cassie to the floor and made her apologize for all the thing she made me do. Cassie told me that if I told my father she would let all of my friends and kids at my school all my secrets I had told her. Cassie betrayed my trust and said again if I ever told anyone about our fight she would let everyone at the Jefferson Davis County school know my secrets. Cassie also said that I would be embarrassed because a thirteen year old was beaten up by a nine year old. She used to be such a nice girl and I even trusted her.
