All through Hebrews, the writer contrasts Jesus to figures that have the Jewish beliefs. Every individual had a part back then, however, Jesus sacrifice, Jesus covenant, and Jesus ongoing ministry is superior to anything offered by anyone else. Jesus is better than cherubs. Jesus is the wonderful King of Kings (Heb 1:4, 6, 8). Yes Moses was one of God’s servants, but Jesus is better than Moses was, the Son of God is what Jesus is (Heb 3:3–4). Jesus is the best priest because his is without sin and he is immortal (Heb 7:26–28). Stone table is what was used to document the old covenant. Man’s heart is where the new covenant should be documented. The priest of the highest went into the place of worship on earth to meditate for mankind one time a year. Jesus went into heaven, before the presences the almighty God, and will always meditate on mankind’s behalf. Even though Jewish people where blessed with the favor of God through the kings, prophets, and priests, it would not make sense for them to reside in the old testament once they received knowledge of Christ.
Material wealth is not better than Jesus. Currency is extremely important but if one loves money this makes it corrupt to the mind. If an individual loves money, they would never have enough. Jesus became poor in order for us to be rich (Kruger, 2014). If we have Jesus, we have more than enough of whatever it is we need. When we have Christ we can appreciate tangible blessing on earth.
