Joan was born in Domremy, France in 1412. She worked on a farm as her father; Jackes did and was very religious. When she was 12 years, she had a vision. She saw Michael the Archangel who told her that she was to lead the French in a battle against the English. Later, she had others, She said that were beautiful visions from God. Many years after, she decided to obey her visions and take action. First, she wanted to get an army to defeat the English. And for that reason, Joan decided she would ask King Charles of France for one. After a long time insisting the commander of the garrison accepted his request of meeting the king who though that there was nothing to lose and let Joan accompany a convoy of soldiers and supplies to the city of Orleans under siege from the English Army. When the time of battle started, she started fighting when one arrow hurt her; however she still going forward until she and her soldiers could repell the English troops and caused them to retreat from Orleans. She had won a great victory and saved the French from the English. Nevertheles, she hadn´t fulfilled all her visions. So, Joan and her army cleared the way to Rheims, gaining followers as she went. Soon they had made it to Rheims and Charles was crowned King of France. It exist theories in which is said that the whole story of Joan of Arc is a myth. Theories that said that she wasn´t a Christian, but rather a member of a pagan cult, and that she wasn´t burned at the stake. Also, some theories said that she was secretly the half sister of King Charles VII. However historians haven´t accepted this stories.
