Explanation
Johannes Gutenberg was born into a good family. His family and background was important on his impact to Europe. One instance would be that he was brought up in a family which taught him how to read, but in books that had been hand written. This impacted on his life because otherwise, he wouldn’t have been able to create a printing press. Without this knowledge, he would never have known what each letter was and could have never created the printing press. Books had been hand written or block-printed, meaning he still had the opportunity to create something that changed the way we print.

metals and other materials. This helped him carve the materials needed for the printing press as well as being able to fit it all together.
There was also one big influence from his background which helped him. As well as being familiar with metals and materials, his initial idea behind the printing press was from the wine presses used in his area. He took the concept and modified it to provide even pressure on the paper, so that the ink would be pressed evenly. This helped significantly because without this concept in his local area, he might not have gotten the idea for the printing press. It made him have a modifiable idea that he could implement to fit his design properly.
Assessment
Gutenberg was important in his time.
His most significant event was creating the printing press. Before the invention of this movable printing press, hand written scripts were produces by a few time-consuming methods. That was until Gutenberg designed the first printing press. It required less time and effort. He had designed it and created it as fast as he could. This creation was the sole base for the knowledge of the later renaissance. At the time of Gutenberg’s life, no one had successfully created something like it.
Gutenberg’s bible is another famous thing. He created it as the first thing ever with the printing press. It was 42 lines long. The original Bible was written in Latin and printed in very thick black ink. The writing was vividly legible, even now, after the passing of many centuries. Gutenberg printed nearly 180 copies of his Bible and it was an immediate bestseller. It was very special in this time because things were developing and everyone wanted to have a book from this new type of technology. These first copies that were immediately recognized for their high aesthetic and technical qualities were expensive, costing several years' salaries for the average working
man.
